【Growth Process】
At the beginning of 2004, under the leadership of Director Fei Yang, a new chapter in the endocrinology department of our hospital was opened from scratch. In 2008, it was the first to introduce insulin pumps in the region; in 2012-2013, a dynamic blood glucose monitoring system was launched; in 2015, it completed the acceptance of Fuyang District's key medical disciplines. In June 2015, the Department of Endocrinology was established as an independent department, located in the east area on the 9th floor of the inpatient department, with 31 beds. In 2015, the American VISTA peripheral vascular screening system was launched; in 2016, the peripheral nerve sensory threshold measuring instrument was launched; in 2016, the application of the dynamic blood glucose telemetry system in hospitalized patients was launched. In 2017, advanced technologies such as portable fundus cameras were launched for the first time. In 2017, platelet gel technology was applied in the treatment of diabetic foot. In 2018, it took the lead in carrying out thyroid fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) in Hangzhou. In 2019, the acceptance of key medical disciplines in Hangzhou was completed.

【Current status of subject】
The Department of Endocrinology is a key medical discipline in Hangzhou and a key medical discipline in Fuyang District. It is currently a demonstration center for standardized diagnosis and treatment of diabetes issued by the Diabetes Branch of the Chinese Medical Association. It is also a member unit of the promotion demonstration center of the Ministry of Science and Technology during the 13th Five-Year Plan. It has taken the lead in establishing a new model of integrated hospital-community diabetes management. The department has established a relatively complete system for the diagnosis and treatment of endocrine diseases, with the specialty of diagnosis and treatment of common endocrine and metabolic diseases and critical illness treatment. It has general outpatient clinics and specialist outpatient clinics. The department currently has 11 doctors, including 2 chief physicians, 3 deputy chief physicians, 6 postgraduate students, 2 diabetes specialist nurses, and 31 approved beds. The Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism is characterized and specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes and thyroid diseases, and has accumulated rich clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of related diseases. In particular, remarkable results have been achieved in the intensive treatment, integrated and standardized management of diabetes and the diagnosis and treatment of complications. In recent years, the department has gradually expanded the diagnosis and treatment of other endocrinological diseases such as gout (hyperuricemia), osteoporosis, obesity, dyslipidemia, adrenal gland, pituitary diseases and other specialized diseases. Further explore the exploration of new models of chronic disease management system construction in the context of the medical community. As the Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, our department is responsible for the clinical teaching tasks and postgraduate training of this major, and implements teaching and clinical internship and internship teaching. Fei Yang is the master's tutor of Zhejiang University of Chinese Medicine. Deputy chief physicians Sun Liqin and Lou Qinhua have long been responsible for teaching at the Fuchun campus of Zhejiang University of Chinese Medicine. As a required rotation department for the standardized training of internal medicine for residents in Hangzhou, they provide services to our hospital and Fuyang Hospitals at all levels in the district have trained a large number of resident doctors who meet the requirements.

【Scientific research results】
The department has undertaken 8 scientific research projects at the provincial, municipal and district levels. It has won the first prize of the Fuyang District Science and Technology Progress Award and the Hangzhou Fuyang District Youth Science and Technology Award. It has published more than 20 papers in academic journals at all levels at home and abroad, including 5 SCI papers. .
