【Growth Process】

In 1997, Director Luo Mingyuan returned from Zhejiang Cancer Hospital for further training and completed the region’s first radical esophageal cancer surgery and standardized perioperative treatment. In November 1999, our hospital began to invest in the introduction of the first set of laparoscopic equipment and began to try and explore the field of laparoscopic surgery. In 2002, many cases of laparoscopic rectal cancer resection were successfully performed without complications. In 2004, the Oncology Surgery Department of Fuyang People's Hospital was officially established as a department, and was gradually separated from the Department of Urology and Neurosurgery. In March 2009, our department won the title of “Women’s Civilized Post” in Fuyang City. In 2011, our department became the “Key Discipline of Fuyang City”. In December 2012, our department won the title of “Women Civilization Post” in Hangzhou. In February 2013, our hospital successfully introduced ERCP technology and equipment. Under the leadership of Director Fang Haixing, it currently performs more than 160 ERCP cases annually, with an operation success rate of more than 95% (slightly higher than the level reported in the literature), ranking first among districts and counties in the province. The leading level of municipal hospitals has enabled some hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases that originally required surgery to avoid the pain of surgery, leading a new pattern of minimally invasive treatment. In October 2013, radiofrequency ablation treatment for tumors was gradually launched. In November 2013, our department became the “Zhejiang Province Cancer Pain Standardized Treatment Demonstration Ward”. In 2014, Chief Physician Sun Wenhui returned to the hospital for further training from the Second Zhejiang Hospital and established the “PhD Doctoral Workstation of Professor Gong Weihua of the Second Zhejiang Hospital” headed by Chief Physician Sun Wenhui to carry out clinical treatment and research on patients with AFP-positive gastric tumors. In April of the same year, the first transthoracic thyroid surgery in the region was completed, and in July of the same year, the first complete transareolar thyroid surgery was completed. In 2015, our department independently carried out and completed the first laparoscopic radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer in the region. In May of the same year, it was officially renamed "General Hospital of the First People's Hospital of Fuyang District, Hangzhou.

He Yuren is the pioneer of surgery in our hospital. Under his leadership, Fuyang District People's Hospital has opened a new chapter in general surgery. Li Xuezheng, a pioneer in surgery at Fuyang People's Hospital, comprehensively carries out general surgery, from the lower abdomen to the upper abdomen, thyroid, breast, and hernia surgeries, laying a solid foundation for the development of general surgery. Luo Mingyuan, academic director and chief physician of surgical oncology, started working in August 1989 and studied in Zhejiang Cancer Hospital for one year in October 1996. In May 2003, he went to Shanghai Zhongshan Hospital for three months of further study. He successively served as deputy director of the general surgery department, deputy director of the oncology surgery department, and director of Fuyang People's Hospital until 2018. Specialized in surgery and comprehensive treatment of digestive tract tumors, thyroid, and breast tumors.

【Current status of subject】

The general practice currently has 11 doctors, including 4 chief physicians, 5 attending physicians, and 2 physicians. The department currently has 8 people with graduate degrees or above. The medical staff in the department are closely united around the department director and have good teamwork. As the Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, our department undertakes the clinical teaching tasks of this major and implements teaching, clinical internship, and internship teaching. Our department is a required rotation department for the standardized training of surgical residents in Hangzhou, and has trained a large number of resident doctors who meet the requirements for our hospital and hospitals at all levels in Fuyang District. At the same time, a large number of training doctors come to our department every year for further study and continuing education. The main training content is gastrointestinal, comprehensive treatment of thyroid and breast malignant tumors, laparoscopic surgery techniques, etc., which has played a good role in promoting the development of the disciplines of the sister hospitals. It has greatly improved the radiation capabilities of our department and our hospital.

【Diagnosis and treatment scope】

Standardized surgeries for digestive tract tumors, hepatobiliary and pancreatic tumors, thyroid tumors, breast tumors and soft tissue tumors are routinely performed. It has strong comprehensive treatment capabilities for stomach cancer, colon cancer, rectal cancer, liver cancer, gallbladder cancer, pancreatic cancer, breast cancer and thyroid cancer, and is at the advanced level of county-level hospitals in Zhejiang Province.

【Technical Features】

The department aims to build the most technologically advanced minimally invasive surgery in the country, fully applies minimally invasive technology and minimally invasive concepts to all fields of surgery, and takes the lead in carrying out transareolar and transoral vestibular approaches for laparoscopic thyroid surgery and gastroenteroscopy combined with laparoscopy. Minimally invasive surgery for lower gastrointestinal tumors; routine modified radical mastectomy, breast conserving surgery, and one-stage breast reconstruction for breast cancer; laparoscopic radical gastrectomy and colorectal cancer radical resection; minimally invasive treatment of hepatobiliary and pancreatic cancer, including laparoscopic surgery Radical resection of liver cancer, radical resection of gallbladder cancer, radical resection of pancreatic cancer, splenectomy, radiofrequency ablation of liver cancer, ERCP, etc.

【Scientific research results】

Our department undertakes a number of provincial natural science foundations and a number of Hangzhou municipal department and bureau-level scientific research projects. In the past five years, he has published more than 20 papers, including more than 10 SCI papers, with the highest impact factor of 5.168. Many scientific research achievements have won the Science and Technology Progress Award of Hangzhou City and Fuyang District. Department staff participate in many domestic academic conferences at all levels every year. They actively participate in domestic academic activities through conference speeches, exhibition boards and paper exchanges, and bring advanced domestic and foreign medical concepts and diagnosis and treatment technologies back to the department, and continue to It has been applied clinically and achieved good results.
