In December 1989, the Department of Infectious Diseases was established as an independent department and the first Infectious Diseases Department in Fuyang was established. It is located on the first floor of the old internal medicine ward building with 20 open beds, and the number of beds was later increased to 40. In January 1991, the first percutaneous liver puncture was performed. (Main developers: Sun Zhongfu, etc.) In January 2001, the Department of Infectious Diseases moved to the first floor of the outpatient building (next to the infusion room), with 6 beds open. In the spring of 2003, the department successfully completed the fight against SARS. In May 2005, the Department of Infectious Diseases moved to the former Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Ward, with an independent infection building and was officially renamed the Department of Infectious Diseases, with 16 open beds. From the winter of 2008 to the spring of 2009, during the H1NI influenza epidemic season, the department was set up as a designated influenza specialist ward and successfully completed the fight against H1NI influenza pneumonia. From the winter of 2013 to the spring of 2014, during the H7N9 avian influenza epidemic season, the department was set up as a designated specialist ward for avian influenza. For the first time, non-invasive ventilator-assisted ventilation was used to treat patients with respiratory failure. It successfully treated the oldest avian influenza patient in Zhejiang Province at that time. Influenza patients have done a great job in the fight against avian influenza. In 2014, it took over the tuberculosis clinic managed by the former Fuyang District Center for Disease Control and Prevention. In May 2015, with the overall relocation of the hospital, the Department of Infectious Diseases was located in the Infectious Disease Building, with 29 beds in the ward on the second floor being regularly opened. There are 29 spare beds on the fourth floor. On the first floor, there are tuberculosis clinic, fever clinic, gastrointestinal clinic, HIV clinic, and infectious disease (liver disease) clinic. October 2015, For the first time, artificial liver was used to treat patients with liver failure. (Main developer: Lin Bingjie) In 2015, the tuberculosis clinic launched rapid testing for Mycobacterium tuberculosis. In 2016, it took over the AIDS clinic managed by the former Fuyang District Center for Disease Control and Prevention. In 2018, many dengue fever patients were successfully diagnosed and treated. In 2019, many patients with brucellosis infection were successfully diagnosed and treated. In the spring of 2020, during the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic season, the department was set up as a designated specialized ward for COVID-19, successfully treated many patients with COVID-19, and successfully completed the fight against COVID-19. In March 2020, the department was awarded the title of Hangzhou March 8th Red Flag Bearer. From 2020 to 2022, it will be set up as an isolation ward of the infectious disease department to undertake the task of ensuring and treating the new crown epidemic and make a significant contribution to the fight against the new crown epidemic. In February 2023, there will be 36 beds in the ward on the third floor and 29 spare beds on the second floor. The department currently has 36 open beds, and has liver disease and infection clinics, fever clinics, intestinal clinics, tuberculosis clinics, etc.; it currently has 12 clinicians, including 4 with medical master's degrees, 8 with bachelor's degrees, 2 with senior technical titles, and A total of 20 district and outpatient nurses form a powerful infection team of Fuyang No. 1 Hospital. The department has an independent infection building and a reasonable layout of outpatient clinics and wards. Department members keep up with the development of international disciplines, actively advocate precision treatment, have rich experience in the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases, and provide the best diagnosis and treatment solutions for patients with infectious diseases. The department is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases in the hospital, including fever with unidentified causes, lung infections, urinary tract infections, liver infections, sepsis and other diseases, chronic liver diseases such as chronic hepatitis B, cirrhosis and various liver function abnormalities. The department inherits the advantages of diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases, including diagnosis and treatment of respiratory infectious diseases, pathogenic diagnosis under bronchoscopy, application of non-invasive ventilator, diagnosis and treatment of liver diseases, and provides optimized diagnosis and treatment plans for patients with various types of respiratory infections and liver diseases. Responsible for consultation and guidance on the rational use of antibiotics throughout the hospital. Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis in Fuyang District, and is the designated unit for tuberculosis diagnosis and treatment in Fuyang District. At the same time, the department is responsible for the prevention, control, diagnosis and treatment of various infectious diseases in Fuyang area, and protects the public health of Fuyang District.

The Department of Infectious Diseases mainly treats various types of unexplained fever, respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, sepsis and other diseases, including diseases caused by various pathogens (including bacteria, viruses, fungi, tuberculosis, parasites, atypical pathogens, etc.) Various infections of other systems; treatment of liver diseases caused by various causes, including acute and chronic viral hepatitis, drug-induced hepatitis, alcoholic hepatitis, fatty liver, autoimmune liver disease, etc.; diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis.

Routine bronchoscopy, tuberculosis nucleic acid testing, hepatitis B virus resistance gene testing, and various types of punctures such as thoracentesis, abdominal puncture, lumbar puncture, and liver puncture are routinely performed.
